Superior Mountain Facing Suites

SUPERIOR COMES STANDARD

Our Superior Mountain View Suites are individual units with majestic views of the Drakensberg. Each unit has a king-size bed, separate lounge area, DSTV and Netflix, fireplace, dressing-room area, under floor heated bathroom with bath as well as indoor and outdoor showers, private balconies with loungers, air conditioning, tea and coffee-making facilities, a mini bar area, as well as wireless internet.

Our Superior Suites overlook lush pastures and rolling hills towards the entire panoramic Drakensberg range. Sunsets over the mountains are spectacular.

Our main design criteria when building the Superior Suites was to make the rooms spacious enough to accommodate a bedroom/lounge area. Flat screen TVs sit in their own wall-mounted mirror cupboards for neatness and space. Each room has a fireplace for added ambiance and to complement the air-conditioning which is for both heating and cooling. Water is heated by heat pumps to save on energy. There is under floor heating in the bathrooms and dressing rooms. There is also an IT corner with desk and connections in each of the dressing rooms.

Bathrooms have double basins, bath and shower, plus a novel outdoor shower where one can enjoy the mountain views (in complete privacy). Like all of the Fordoun suites, each of the new rooms has been thoughtfully decorated by Micheline Bates and daughter, Georgie Ridl.

Although these suites are only some 50 metres away from the main Fordoun buildings, we have a shuttle cart which can deliver and collect guests plus bring room service meals to guests. An attractive feature is the running water which starts at two ponds on each of the spacious verandas. This water runs down next to the walkways and eventually joins the other Fordoun waterways before returning underground to the dam.
