Rain down on us ….

There is no such thing as bad weather … only bad gear …
We have had over 5 days of rain at Fordoun. 100 ml in 5 days. Lovely, glorious, life giving, soaking rain. Penetrating the thirsty ground, filling up the water table, running off the lands and into the dams. Thank you, thank you.
We spare a though for the Eastern Cape farmers where the severe drought was followed by hectic devastating floods, and the areas still in the throes of the crippling drought, Cape Town for example. We are not out of the woods in terms of the drought but we can see a bright light coming closer and closer …. light at the end of the tunnel or of the oncoming train ? The former we hope but then farmers are eternal optimists!
Rain is a farmers garden hose, but he cannot turn it on and off as he wants nor can he regulate the strength of the drops. He can not choose gentle for seedlings but quantity for roses.
But all is not lost ….
This is a perfect chance to come and relax on the couch in front of a fire after a nice brisk walk experiencing Fordoun Farm. Or relax with a spa treatments ….
Come and enjoy the midlands with a twist …. but bring your wellies ….
