Accommodation: Lesotho Suite

The Lesotho Suite at Fordoun Hotel is one of the twenty two luxurious, individually appointed suites located in Nottingham Road, the Midlands. The Lesotho Suite looks at Lesotho in the distance. Ann Powley has painted stunning canvases of rural Lesotho themes for the suite.

This suite has majestic views of the Drakensberg as well as a king-size bed, separate lounge area, TV and DVD, gas fireplace, dressing room area, under floor heated bathroom with bath as well as indoor and outdoor showers, private balconies with loungers, air conditioning, tea and coffee making facilities, a mini bar area, as well as wireless internet.

Our main design criteria when building the superior suites, including the Flower Suite was to make the bedroom space big enough to be a bedroom/lounge. Flat screen TVs sit in their own wall mounted mirror cupboards so that there is no untidy wiring. Each room has a gas fireplace which adds ambiance and complements the air-conditioning which is both heating and cooling. Water is heated by Heat Pumps which saves on energy. There is under floor heating in the bathrooms and dressing rooms. We built each dressing room to be large enough to have space for easy opening and packing suitcases. There is also an IT corner with desk and connections in each of the dressing rooms.

Bathrooms have double basins, bath and shower, plus there is a much enjoyed outdoor shower where one can look at the mountains (but nobody can see you).

Although the new superior suites are only about 50 metres away from the Fordoun buildings, we have a shuttle cart which can deliver and collect guests plus bring up room service meals.

Another Fordoun special feature is running water which starts at two ponds on each of the spacious verandas. This water runs down next to the walkways and eventually joins the other Fordoun waterways before returning underground to the dam.
